01Understanding the service
On equipped Skoda diesels, Selective Catalytic Reduction uses AdBlue to help reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. The system includes fluid delivery equipment, an injector, heating and sensors. Software deletion and hardware repair are different approaches: disabling monitoring does not restore a defective component. A warning should be assessed before deciding what work is appropriate.
UK Skoda SCR fitment varies across model generations and engine versions. Neither a 2015-onwards build date nor Euro 6 status proves that a vehicle uses AdBlue. Some 1.6 TDI versions and many 2.0 TDI versions have SCR, but individual fitment should be checked. Send your registration before booking.
Many relevant Skoda diesels use EA288-family engines or later developments, but the engine-family name alone does not establish SCR fitment. Engine codes, ECU platforms and NOx sensor arrangements vary. The handbook and an explicitly marked AdBlue filler can help identify the system; the filler position is not identical on every model. Registration details help narrow down the specification, while diagnostic identification may be needed to confirm ECU hardware and software.
Warnings may describe low AdBlue range, an SCR malfunction or a remaining distance before restarting is restricted. Wording and symbols vary by model, and not every fault produces a countdown. Follow the handbook's refill instructions for a low-level warning; a system fault may require diagnosis even when the tank contains enough fluid. AdBlue freezes at approximately -11°C, and the system is designed to thaw it using heating. Freezing alone is not proof of a failed heater.
These generic DTC descriptions can help interpret a scan, but the full manufacturer-specific text and test results matter. A pressure code does not automatically mean the pump has failed, and an efficiency code does not by itself condemn the catalyst. P2002 concerns diesel particulate filter efficiency and should not be presented as an AdBlue-specific fault.
Send your registration, postcode and photos of the warning or diagnostic report via WhatsApp. Include any recent repairs or refills and tell us whether the vehicle starts. This helps establish the next checks and whether a mobile visit is suitable. Coverage, appointment timing and the scope of any quote should be confirmed before booking.
From booking to completion, our experienced mobile technicians make the process straightforward.
We confirm your vehicle, location, service and appointment.
On the day, your technician calls with an estimated arrival time.
We connect diagnostic equipment, check the vehicle and identify relevant faults.
We read the original ECU software, prepare the AdBlue modification and apply it.
Final diagnostics, applicable fault-code resets and checks to confirm the agreed work is complete.
We take payment, provide a receipt and explain the applicable software warranty.
02Why choose AdBlue Solutions
Found a fault code during a diagnostic scan? Enter it below to understand what it could mean, what warning signs to look out for and what information our mobile AdBlue specialists need to help you.
From AdBlue pressure faults to NOx sensor warnings and SCR system problems, explore common diagnostic codes in simple English.
These are shared diagnostic codes, not confirmed faults for every Skoda. Applicability depends on your vehicle and scan results.
8 common codes
Fault name
What it means
The system has reported insufficient reductant pressure. Diagnostic checks help establish the cause, rather than assuming a failed pump.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
SCR NOx reduction efficiency has been reported below its expected threshold. The full scan and sensor readings help identify possible causes.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
The code concerns SCR operation or monitoring. Read it alongside the full scan and vehicle-specific information.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
The code concerns a NOx sensor circuit or signal. It does not alone confirm which part needs attention.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
The code concerns a NOx sensor circuit or signal. It does not alone confirm which part needs attention.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
The code concerns a dosing or aftertreatment injector. Check the fitted system and full scan before assuming a cause.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
The system reports that the reductant level is too low. Check the actual fluid level and whether the reported level is accurate.
VIEW FAULT DETAILSFault name
What it means
The system has reported reductant quality performance. The code alone does not identify the cause.

Customer questions
Still unsure? Send us your registration and a photo of the warning on WhatsApp.
Ask on WhatsAppSelected UK Skoda Octavia, Superb, Kodiaq and Karoq diesels use AdBlue, as do some earlier Kamiq 1.6 TDI versions. Fitment depends on the engine, generation and build date, not simply whether the car was built after 2015. Check the handbook and look for a filler explicitly marked AdBlue. Send your registration if you are unsure.
Possible causes include low AdBlue level, incorrect or contaminated fluid, pressure faults, injector deposits, heater faults, NOx sensor problems and damaged wiring. NOx sensors monitor emissions; the pump and injector supply and dose the fluid. Some faults can trigger a no-start countdown, but the warning and diagnostic results must be checked before identifying the cause.
Send your registration, postcode and a photo of the warning to request a quote. Available options, mobile access and the scope of any work need to be confirmed for your vehicle before booking.
AdBlue Removal generally refers to software changes that disable SCR operation or associated monitoring; it does not necessarily mean physically removing the tank. It does not repair a failed sensor, pump or injector. Compatibility and the cause of any no-start warning need checking rather than assuming a software change will resolve every symptom.
Relevant codes include P20EE for SCR NOx catalyst efficiency below threshold, bank 1, and P20E8 for reductant pressure too low. Heater, injector, wiring and NOx sensor faults can also occur. A code identifies a detected condition, not necessarily the component that needs replacing.
Send your registration, model, year and engine size, plus the engine code if available. These details help narrow down the fitted system. A diagnostic scan may still be needed to identify the ECU hardware, installed software and fault history.
Send your postcode and explain where the vehicle is parked so coverage, access and appointment availability can be checked. Please also say whether it starts. Finding this page does not confirm that mobile attendance is available at your location.
Send a clear photo of the dashboard warning and the complete diagnostic report via WhatsApp, together with your registration. Include the full code, any suffix and the scanner's description. These details help assess the fault; they do not by themselves establish that a particular service is suitable.
