Vauxhall Vivaro AdBlue warning
AdBlue Delete and Removal enquiries for a Vauxhall Vivaro start with identifying the fitted system and the reason for the warning. A low-fluid alert is different from an SCR malfunction or restart countdown. Send your registration, warning photo and location postcode so we can check the likely vehicle specification and mobile availability.

01Understanding the service
Which Vauxhall Vivaro Models Have AdBlue?
Not every diesel Vivaro has SCR. In the UK, AdBlue is generally associated with Euro 6 Vivaro B 1.6-litre diesels, introduced around 2016, and Vivaro C 1.5- and 2.0-litre diesels from 2019. Earlier Vivaro A diesels and Euro 5 Vivaro B versions generally do not use it. Registration dates can overlap model changes, so send your registration if you are unsure which system your van has.
Understanding the Warning and Restart Countdown
Dashboard wording varies between Vivaro generations. A warning can indicate low AdBlue level, a dosing fault or an emissions-system malfunction. Some faults trigger a remaining-distance countdown after which restarting may be prevented. Record the exact message and arrange diagnosis promptly rather than assuming a refill will clear it. If the van already will not start, tell us before arranging attendance.
- Photograph the complete dashboard message and countdown.
- Check the handbook for the correct refill quantity and recognition procedure.
- Use AdBlue meeting ISO 22241 and avoid contamination or overfilling.
- Keep diagnostic codes and freeze-frame data before clearing anything.
Fault Codes and Possible Causes
Codes identify a detected condition, not necessarily the component that has failed. Possible causes include low fluid, leaks, wiring faults, crystallisation at the dosing injector, inadequate pump pressure or incorrect sensor readings. Tank and pump arrangements differ between generations, so a complete tank assembly should not be assumed necessary without testing.
- P20E8: Reductant pressure too low. Check fluid supply, leaks, pressure generation and the relevant electrical circuits.
- P208E: Reductant injection valve stuck closed, bank 1 unit 1. Confirm the manufacturer-specific test procedure before condemning the injector.
- P2002: Diesel particulate filter efficiency below threshold, bank 1. This concerns the DPF and is not, by itself, evidence of an AdBlue fault.
- For other codes, send the full code, any suffix and the diagnostic tool's description; interpretation can depend on the fitted ECU.
Diagnosis and Repair
Diagnosis may require an ECU identification scan, stored and pending fault codes, live pressure readings, dosing tests and checks of NOx sensor data. Electrical supplies, connectors and exhaust leaks may also need investigation. Any software update or reset must suit the fitted control unit; access through the diagnostic socket is not universal. After repair, the relevant checks should confirm system operation and whether the restart countdown has cleared.
Arranging Mobile Assistance
Send your registration and postcode together with the warning details, recent repair history and whether the engine starts. We will confirm mobile coverage and assess what checks may be possible at your location. Some faults require additional equipment or workshop investigation; neither a clear dashboard nor a successful repair can be promised before diagnosis.

Check Your AdBlue Fault Code
Enter a diagnostic code to explore its meaning and the information to send with your enquiry.
8 common codes
- P20E8
Fault name
Reductant pressure too low
What it means
The system has reported insufficient reductant pressure. Diagnostic checks help establish the cause, rather than assuming a failed pump.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P20EE
Fault name
SCR NOx catalyst efficiency below threshold
What it means
SCR NOx reduction efficiency has been reported below its expected threshold. The full scan and sensor readings help identify possible causes.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P204F
Fault name
Reductant system performance, bank 1
What it means
The code concerns SCR operation or monitoring. Read it alongside the full scan and vehicle-specific information.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P2200
Fault name
NOx sensor circuit, bank 1
What it means
The code concerns a NOx sensor circuit or signal. It does not alone confirm which part needs attention.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P229F
Fault name
NOx sensor circuit range/performance, bank 1 sensor 2
What it means
The code concerns a NOx sensor circuit or signal. It does not alone confirm which part needs attention.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P2047
Fault name
Reductant injection valve circuit/open, bank 1 unit 1
What it means
The code concerns a dosing or aftertreatment injector. Check the fitted system and full scan before assuming a cause.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P203F
Fault name
Reductant level too low
What it means
The system reports that the reductant level is too low. Check the actual fluid level and whether the reported level is accurate.
VIEW FAULT DETAILS - P207F
Fault name
Reductant quality performance
What it means
The system has reported reductant quality performance. The code alone does not identify the cause.

Customer questions
Questions customers ask us
Still unsure? Send us your registration and a photo of the warning on WhatsApp.
Ask on WhatsAppWhat is AdBlue Delete for a Vauxhall Vivaro?
AdBlue Delete describes a software modification intended to disable SCR dosing or monitoring functions. It does not repair a failed pump, injector or sensor, and it cannot guarantee that all warnings or starting restrictions will disappear. Send your registration and diagnostic information so we can identify your Vivaro's system before discussing your enquiry.
What is the difference between Delete, Removal?
AdBlue Removal commonly means electronically disabling SCR functions rather than physically removing the tank. Repair means diagnosing and correcting the underlying fault, which might involve wiring, a leak, a dosing injector, a sensor or a pump. A component should not be replaced solely because its name appears in a fault description.
Can I send my warning light photo on WhatsApp?
Yes. Send your registration, a clear photo of the complete warning message, any remaining countdown distance and the diagnostic codes with their descriptions. Include whether the engine still starts and whether you have recently added AdBlue. These details help narrow down the checks required, but a photo alone cannot confirm the failed part.
What is an AdBlue Fix?
A fix means resolving the reason for the warning. Depending on the diagnosis, this may involve a correct refill, repairing wiring or leaks, replacing a faulty component, or applying a manufacturer-specified update or reset. Clearing fault codes alone does not establish that the problem has been fixed.
Will topping up AdBlue clear the warning?
Not necessarily. A low-level warning may clear after a suitable refill and the recognition procedure described in your handbook. An SCR malfunction warning or restart countdown may remain until the underlying fault is repaired and the required checks or resets are completed. Avoid repeatedly adding fluid to an already full tank.
What information do you need for a quote?
Send your full registration, location postcode, warning photos and any diagnostic report. Your registration helps identify the likely engine and emissions specification; the VIN or an ECU identification scan may also be needed. We can then confirm coverage and advise on the next step.
Do you offer 24/7 emergency callouts?
Yes. Our standard hours are Monday to Sunday, 8 AM to 8 PM. Emergency callouts are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, subject to location and availability. An additional emergency callout charge applies and is confirmed before dispatch.
